Laboratory of Virology of the Center for Aquaculture Biotechnology
Faculty of Chemistry and Biology / Center for Aquaculture Biotechnology (CBA)
3 (1)
DESCRIPTION
The laboratory conducts research on the replication cycle of viruses and other microorganisms, including studies on how viruses enter cells, replicate, form and are released. The generation of this knowledge is essential for the development of new antiviral drugs and vaccines. The focus of the laboratory’s research is the development of tools for early diagnosis, control and pathogen prevention. New techniques have been developed to diagnose infectious agents in humans, animals and fish, as well as tools to control and prevent the spread of these diseases.
SERVICES
The laboratory conducts diagnostic tests for a wide range of viral diseases, including COVID-19, influenza and enteric diseases
