Ana Carolina L\u00f3pez de Dicastillo, acad\u00e9mica e investigadora de la Facultad Tecnol\u00f3gica, dirigi\u00f3 proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n para la obtenci\u00f3n de nanoesferas antimicrobianas que combaten la contaminaci\u00f3n en productos alimenticios. Esta tecnolog\u00eda se encuentra patentada en Chile, cuyo tr\u00e1mite fue apoyado por nuestra Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-60dcfb50\" data-id=\"60dcfb50\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b50b997 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7b50b997\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uno de los grandes desaf\u00edos de la <strong>industria alimentaria<\/strong> es controlar la <strong>presencia de microorganismos<\/strong> en los productos que elaboran y evitar los riesgos de contaminaci\u00f3n que estos generan.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dicha contaminaci\u00f3n microbiana es responsable del <strong>deterioro de los alimentos y de la trasmisi\u00f3n de enfermedades<\/strong> mediante la ingesta de comida, todo lo cual lo que finalmente da\u00f1a la salud de las personas.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si bien la industria ha implementado rigurosas medidas para prevenir los <strong>peligros de la contaminaci\u00f3n<\/strong> a lo largo de toda la cadena de producci\u00f3n y poder asegurar su inocuidad, a\u00fan persisten algunos problemas por resolver.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uno de ellos, es la <strong>resistencia de los microorganismos frente al uso de sustancias antimicrobianas y antibi\u00f3ticos<\/strong>. Ante esta problem\u00e1tica, la Nanotecnolog\u00eda ha surgido como una innovadora soluci\u00f3n, gracias a la utilizaci\u00f3n de nanopart\u00edculas microbicidas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ese contexto, un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de la <a href=\"http:\/\/usach.cl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Santiago<\/a>, liderado por la <strong>Dra. Ana Carolina L\u00f3pez de Dicastillo<\/strong>, acad\u00e9mica e investigadora de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.factec.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facultad Tecnol\u00f3gica de la USACH<\/a>, trabaj\u00f3 en la obtenci\u00f3n de nanoesferas con actividad antimicrobiana y amplio espectro que, adem\u00e1s de combatir la contaminaci\u00f3n en alimentos, puede tener aplicaciones en otros productos.<\/span><\/p><p><b>De esta forma, lo que el equipo de investigadoras\/es propuso fue un m\u00e9todo para obtener nanoesferas de di\u00f3xido de titanio (NNE\/TiO2) mediante el uso de dos t\u00e9cnicas: Electrospinning (ES) y Deposici\u00f3n de capa at\u00f3mica (ALD), y luego tratamiento t\u00e9rmico, incluyendo preferentemente, calcinaci\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al respecto, la <strong>Dra. Ana Carolina L\u00f3pez<\/strong> comenta que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201clas nanoesferas son \u00fatiles para preparar formulaciones para controlar la contaminaci\u00f3n microbiana en alimentos, as\u00ed como en la preparaci\u00f3n de productos de consumo, y de uso humano o animal\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La investigadora explica que las nanoesferas pueden tener aplicaciones en productos como desinfectantes; aquellos de limpieza dom\u00e9stica e higiene hospitalaria; instrumentos y dispositivos m\u00e9dicos, dentales o veterinarios; desinfectantes o microbicidas para pinturas o pl\u00e1sticos. tambi\u00e9n cosm\u00e9ticos, textiles y farmac\u00e9uticos, en donde pueden <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cir reduciendo, eliminando o evitando una carga bacteriana o la presencia de microorganismos\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad, esta tecnolog\u00eda USACH se encuentra con patente concedida en Chile, pudiendo impactar positivamente en distintas industrias.
