Cristina Villamar, acad\u00e9mica e investigadora de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda, lidera proyecto orientado a beneficiar social y medioambientalmente a comunas rurales, mediante un trabajo conjunto con municipios y empresas agroindustriales. La propuesta es apoyada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica, a trav\u00e9s del concurso Transfiere DGT.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-50f5601e\" data-id=\"50f5601e\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b63b8c3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b63b8c3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcanzar el triple impacto econ\u00f3mico, social y ambiental en el pa\u00eds, es lo que buscan muchos de los proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n aplicada que se desarrollan en nuestra Universidad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parte fundamental de dichos desarrollos es concretar la vinculaci\u00f3n con empresas privadas, instituciones p\u00fablicas y otros actores relevantes para que, principalmente, se efect\u00faen las validaciones t\u00e9cnicas y comerciales como actividades claves para acceder al mercado.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En esa l\u00ednea, hoy se encuentra el proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n <\/span><b>\u201cDesarrollo de tecnolog\u00eda de biofiltraci\u00f3n para el tratamiento de aguas residuales y la generaci\u00f3n de subproductos con valor agregado\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que lidera la<strong> Dra. Cristina Villamar<\/strong>, acad\u00e9mica de la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usach.cl\/facultades\/fing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e investigadora del Laboratorio de Investigaci\u00f3n Interdisciplinaria en Ciencias y Tecnolog\u00eda del Agua, Ko-Yaku Usach.<\/span><\/p><p>En esa aventura es acompa\u00f1ada por el <strong>Dr. Sergio Y\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/strong>, como director alterno, junto a las y los ayudantes de laboratorio <strong>Yilbert Tovar<\/strong>, <strong>\u00c1ngela Plaza<\/strong>, <strong>Kennedy Costa<\/strong> y <strong>Paula Madariaga<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, se integran un grupo de estudiantes y profesionales de diversas carreras de Ingenier\u00eda.<\/p><h6><b>Proyecto con impacto positivo<\/b><\/h6><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Chile casi un 99% de las ciudades y municipios urbanos poseen una planta de tratamiento de residuos l\u00edquidos municipales, mientras que a nivel rural no supera el 20%, debido al alto costo que implica contar con esta instalaci\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dicha carencia \u201cse convierte en un problema sanitario que, finalmente afecta la salud de la poblaci\u00f3n y del medioambiente\u201d, dice la <strong>Dra. Cristina Villamar<\/strong>. Para dar soluci\u00f3n a la problem\u00e1tica, se propuso una tecnolog\u00eda que trata de replicar los sistemas de la naturaleza para la filtraci\u00f3n de aguas. Ejemplo de ello, son los humedales que logran depurar la contaminaci\u00f3n y controlan las inundaciones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8052 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/vriic.usach.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_2186-scaled-e1667513831235-1024x972.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"972\" \/><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201dBasado en esos criterios, propusimos un sistema de biofiltraci\u00f3n, haciendo uso de componentes biol\u00f3gicos como plantas e incorporamos lombrices, microorganismos, y bacterias, los cuales est\u00e1n unidos bajo un componente filtrante\u201d, detalla la acad\u00e9mica, en relaci\u00f3n a la funci\u00f3n que los mismos estos poseen para el saneamiento de aguas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h6><b>Impulsando la vinculaci\u00f3n con los mundos privado y p\u00fablico<\/b><\/h6><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uno de los aspectos que resalta la investigadora es que el proyecto tiene la virtud de unir los entornos acad\u00e9mico, p\u00fablico y privado, los cuales \u201cpueden dar una respuesta eficiente a las deficiencias de saneamientos que existen\u201d, acota.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad, el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n trabaja en un modelo experimental a nivel de laboratorio, que pr\u00f3ximamente esperan probar en una comuna rural. \u201cCon el municipio de Til Til tenemos un convenio y les propusimos realizar validaciones de una planta piloto de un metro c\u00fabico, que los beneficiar\u00eda\u201d, agrega.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En cuanto a la vinculaci\u00f3n con empresas, se considera contar con un proveedor de residuos org\u00e1nicos agroindustriales, material que tambi\u00e9n se utilizar\u00e1 para filtrar las aguas residuales. En este caso se usar\u00e1n c\u00e1scaras de avellanas que proveer\u00e1 Agrichile, industria productora con la cual el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n ha venido trabajando en otras iniciativas anteriormente.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLa empresa cuenta con un residuo que se genera en forma masiva, pero que ahora no les da mucha funcionalidad y por lo tanto, a trav\u00e9s del proyecto se abre la posibilidad de ampliarse a otros rubros de negocios y adem\u00e1s, con impacto social\u201d comenta.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por \u00faltimo, puntualiza que \u201cel mundo rural agroindustrial y nosotros como Universidad nos beneficiamos, porque nos conectamos mediante esta iniciativa.
