Esta tecnolog\u00eda se encuentra en proceso de solicitud de patente, tramitaci\u00f3n apoyada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica de la Vriic.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b10a168 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b10a168\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"field field-name-post-date field-type-ds field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chile es el principal productor de cobre a nivel mundial, con una producci\u00f3n que alcanz\u00f3 los\u00a0 5,3 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas en 2024 y gener\u00f3 m\u00e1s del 20% global en 2023, seg\u00fan datos de la plataforma <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/es.statista.com\/estadisticas\/598910\/produccion-mundial-de-cobre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statista<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para mantener este liderazgo, la industria minera nacional enfrenta el desaf\u00edo de aumentar la producci\u00f3n de concentrados de sulfuros y \u00f3xidos de cobre, lo que exige optimizar los sistemas de extracci\u00f3n y procesamiento de los mismos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Esta nueva orientaci\u00f3n en la matriz productiva para obtener concentrados de cobre<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n implicar\u00eda incrementar significativamente el consumo de agua utilizada durante el proceso de flotaci\u00f3n, el cual permite la separaci\u00f3n entre los minerales.<\/span><\/p><p><b>En respuesta a esta necesidad, la Usach desarroll\u00f3 un\u00a0 innovador m\u00e9todo que optimiza la extracci\u00f3n de cobre, a partir del concentrado de minerales de sulfuros. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta tecnolog\u00eda estuvo a cargo de <\/span><b>un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n del <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.metalurgia.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda en Metal\u00fargica<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de la Universidad de Santiago, integrado por los investigadores,<\/span><b> Dr. Patricio Navarro Donoso y Dr. Cristi\u00e1n Vargas Riquelme, actual Decano de la <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/fing.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda<\/b><\/a><b>, junto a Daniel Espinoza Espinoza, encargado del Laboratorio de Hidrometalurgia.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El m\u00e9todo se centra en la utilizaci\u00f3n de persulfato de sodio y cloruro de sodio en un medio \u00e1cido para el pretratamiento y disoluci\u00f3n de concentrados de sulfuros de cobre. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA diferencia de los m\u00e9todos tradicionales, este desarrollo logra recuperar entre un 70% y un 80% m\u00e1s de cobre, en un plazo de 5 a 7 d\u00edas, reduciendo significativamente el tiempo de proceso y el consumo de agua\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, destaca el <\/span><b>Dr. Patricio Navarro.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Otra ventaja clave de esta innovaci\u00f3n es su capacidad para retener el hierro presente en los concentrados en forma s\u00f3lida, evitando su disoluci\u00f3n en la soluci\u00f3n lixiviada. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEsto simplifica los procesos posteriores de extracci\u00f3n por solvente y electroobtenci\u00f3n, mejorando la pureza del cobre y reduciendo costos operacionales\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a\u00f1ade el investigador.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El desarrollo de este m\u00e9todo <strong>r<\/strong><\/span><b>epresenta un avance significativo en la industria minera del pa\u00eds, para impulsar la producci\u00f3n local de concentrados de sulfuros de cobre como calcopirita y bornita, de forma m\u00e1s eficiente y sostenible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Asimismo, <\/span><b>revitaliza\u00a0 y abre nuevas oportunidades para la utilizaci\u00f3n de plantas hidrometal\u00fargicas <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">existentes, las cuales hoy se encuentran operando bajo su capacidad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta tecnolog\u00eda desarrollada en la Usach, hoy se encuentra en proceso de <\/span><b>solicitud de
