El objetivo es valorizar los desechos de neum\u00e1ticos, transform\u00e1ndolos en nuevos productos. En nuestro Plantel, la iniciativa es encabezada por el Dr. Leonardo Brescia, acad\u00e9mico del Depto. de Ingenier\u00eda en Obras Civiles, y su ejecuci\u00f3n es apoyada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica de la Vriic.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4a148038 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4a148038\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"field field-name-post-date field-type-ds field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En Chile se desechan cerca de 6,6 millones de neum\u00e1ticos cada a\u00f1o, seg\u00fan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mma.gob.cl\/comienza-a-regir-las-metas-de-recoleccion-y-valorizacion-de-neumaticos-en-la-region-del-maule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">datos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> del Ministerio del Medio Ambiente. De estos, s\u00f3lo el 17% se maneja ambientalmente responsable, mientras que el resto termina en vertederos clandestinos o bien desaparece de los registros, generando un grave problema ambiental.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sin embargo, con la entrada en vigencia de la Ley de Responsabilidad Extendida del Productor (Ley REP), este panorama podr\u00eda cambiar. La normativa establece metas para la recolecci\u00f3n y valorizaci\u00f3n de los neum\u00e1ticos fuera de uso (NFU), promoviendo su reciclaje y nuevos usos para evitar su acumulaci\u00f3n en espacios p\u00fablicos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En este contexto, nuestro Plantel participa de una importante iniciativa que busca transformar los neum\u00e1ticos en desuso en productos \u00fatiles. Se trata del <strong>proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n aplicada \u201cNFU-Evoluci\u00f3n\u201d<\/strong>, el cual es financiado por CORFO y liderado por el <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/circulartec.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centro Tecnol\u00f3gico de Econom\u00eda Circular<\/a> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CircularTec) en colaboraci\u00f3n con la <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Santiago de Chile<\/a> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Usach); la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uc.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PUC) y la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucn.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Norte<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (UCN), adem\u00e1s de las empresas <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaltiremining.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kal Tire,<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/arrigoniambiental.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arrigoni Ambiental<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rembre.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rembre<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rubtec.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rubtec<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/a><\/p><h2><b>Valorizaci\u00f3n del caucho<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cada instituci\u00f3n desempe\u00f1ar\u00e1 un rol clave en la investigaci\u00f3n y desarrollo de productos, a partir de los desechos de neum\u00e1ticos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Es as\u00ed como la Usach se enfocar\u00e1 en explorar el uso del caucho granular como componente del hormig\u00f3n para viviendas en extensi\u00f3n, desarrollo que estar\u00e1 a cargo del <a href=\"https:\/\/obrasciviles.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda en Obras Civiles<\/a> de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda y apoyado por la <a href=\"https:\/\/dgt.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica<\/a> (DGT) de la V<a href=\"https:\/\/vriic.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">icerrector\u00eda de Investigaci\u00f3n, Innovaci\u00f3n y Creaci\u00f3n<\/a> (Vriic).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El proyecto ser\u00e1 liderado por el Dr. Leonardo Brescia con apoyo\u00a0 del\u00a0 Dr. Juan Carlos Pina, ambos investigadores del Depto. de Ingenier\u00eda en Obras Civiles. Con respecto a la investigaci\u00f3n y su posible uso en la construcci\u00f3n de casas, el Dr. Brescia explica que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cel caucho puede aportar propiedades de aislaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica al hormig\u00f3n, lo que est\u00e1 alineado con la normativa que busca reducir los coeficientes de transmitancia t\u00e9rmica\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><strong>Adem\u00e1s de sus beneficios t\u00e9cnicos, la iniciativa busca generar un impacto positivo en los \u00e1mbitos sociales, ambientales y econ\u00f3micos, tanto para la sociedad como distintas industrias.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dar un nuevo uso al caucho significa reducir el volumen de este material en desuso que se va acumulando, lo cual es especialmente relevante para industrias como la minera, que por ley deben reciclar los neum\u00e1ticos de los veh\u00edculos utilizados en las faenas\u201d, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">agrega el Dr. Brescia.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Validaci\u00f3n del producto<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cabe destacar que la investigaci\u00f3n tendr\u00e1 una duraci\u00f3n de <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16 meses, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">considera cuatro etapas de ejecuci\u00f3n y <strong>el trabajo conjunto del Laboratorio de Materiales y Geotecnia, y el Laboratorio de Estructuras<\/strong>, ambos del Depto. de Ingenier\u00eda en Obras Civiles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la primera etapa se desarrollar\u00e1n pruebas a nivel de laboratorio, en donde se evaluar\u00e1n mezclas de caucho con hormig\u00f3n para determinar su resistencia y propiedades t\u00e9rmicas, con el objetivo de desarrollar un material adecuado para construcci\u00f3n de viviendas econ\u00f3micas.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En tanto en la segunda etapa, se realizar\u00e1n simulaciones estructurales y t\u00e9rmicas, a trav\u00e9s de modelaci\u00f3n computacional, para validar la viabilidad y propiedades de temperatura de las casas construidas con este hormig\u00f3n con caucho, considerando dise\u00f1os t\u00edpicos de edificaciones de 60 a 80 metros cuadrados.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Posteriormente, se ejecutar\u00e1 la construcci\u00f3n de prototipos de viviendas, con la finalidad de\u00a0 comprobar emp\u00edricamente los resultados obtenidos en el laboratorio y simulaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finalmente y tras estos resultados, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">se resumir\u00e1 toda la informaci\u00f3n, se crear\u00e1n los manuales de dise\u00f1o, y adem\u00e1s se apoyar\u00e1 el modelo de negocio con CircularTec\u201d,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> enfatiza el Dr.
