La solicitud de patente est\u00e1 en tr\u00e1mite, con el apoyo de la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica de la Vriic.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-79bc0255 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"79bc0255\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"field field-name-post-date field-type-ds field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chile es uno de los l\u00edderes de la industria salmonera mundial, ocupando el segundo lugar en producci\u00f3n de salm\u00f3nidos, despu\u00e9s de Noruega, y abasteciendo el 25% de la oferta global. A nivel nacional, este producto es el de mayor exportaci\u00f3n, despu\u00e9s del cobre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sin embargo, el sector enfrenta diversos desaf\u00edos, entre los cuales destaca la propagaci\u00f3n de enfermedades que amenazan la estabilidad y calidad de la producci\u00f3n. Una de las m\u00e1s comunes y peligrosas es la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Septicemia rickettsial<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> salmon\u00eddea (SRS), causada por la bacteria <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piscirickettsia salmonis<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seg\u00fan un art\u00edculo de la plataforma <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salmonexpert.cl\/balance-biologia-compendio\/tres-enfermedades-se-ubican-como-principales-causas-de-mortalidad-en-salmn-chileno\/1306644\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salmonexpert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, en 2021 las infecciones representaron el 23% de la mortalidad entre los salm\u00f3nidos, de las cuales un 40% fue atribuida al SRS. Para dar soluci\u00f3n a esta problem\u00e1tica que da\u00f1a a los cultivos, la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Universidad de Santiago de Chile<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ha logrado importantes avances, gracias al trabajo de sus investigadoras e investigadores.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En este contexto, <strong>un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de la <\/strong><\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quimicaybiologia.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facultad de Qu\u00edmica y Biolog\u00eda<\/a> formul\u00f3 un aditivo alimenticio para administrar a los peces, utilizando extractos naturales de <i>Crynodendron patagua<\/i> (patagua) y de <i>Aristotelia chilensis<\/i> (maqui), con el objetivo de prevenir y tratar las infecciones causadas por el pat\u00f3geno <i>Piscirickettsia salmonis.<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este proyecto fue liderado por los acad\u00e9micos e investigadores, Dr. Gustavo Z\u00fa\u00f1iga, del <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vriic.usach.cl\/index.php\/lfbv-laboratorio-de-fisiologia-y-biotecnologia-vegetal-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laboratorio de Biotecnolog\u00eda y Fisiolog\u00eda Vegetal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"_wp_link_placeholder\">,<\/a> y el Dr. Rub\u00e9n Vidal, del Laboratorio de Gen\u00f3mica, Ecolog\u00eda Molecular y Estudios Evolutivos, quienes trabajaron junto a estudiantes de pregrado y posgrado en el desarrollo de este alimento.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Dr. Z\u00fa\u00f1iga comenta que \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">esta innovaci\u00f3n consider\u00f3 generar de manera efectiva y sustentable biomasa de dos especies vegetales nativas, las cuales fueron cultivadas in vitro en nuestro laboratorio. El prop\u00f3sito fue que el producto pudiera controlar la expansi\u00f3n de la enfermedad SRS y as\u00ed reducir la mortalidad de los pec<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">es\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para evaluar la efectividad de la tecnolog\u00eda, el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n llev\u00f3 a cabo pruebas en cultivos de salmones adultos, logrando una reducci\u00f3n de la mortalidad en un 10%. Adem\u00e1s, se registr\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n promedio del 25% en el uso de antibi\u00f3ticos convencionales, sin alterar la resistencia de la bacteria.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Dr. Z\u00fa\u00f1iga se\u00f1ala que \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">esta formulaci\u00f3n se dise\u00f1\u00f3 para ser utilizada como un tratamiento complementario dentro del programa de control de la enfermedad, permitiendo que el producto sea administrado a los peces desde el estado de alev\u00edn hasta la adultez, favoreciendo una mayor eficacia a lo largo de su ciclo de vida\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finalmente, el acad\u00e9mico acota <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cque esta innovaci\u00f3n busca mejorar los est\u00e1ndares de sanidad y crianza en los cultivos, contribuyendo a una producci\u00f3n sostenida, que permita a los productores chilenos continuar liderando las exportaciones en el mercado mundial.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad, esta tecnolog\u00eda desarrollada en la Usach se encuentra en proceso de solicitud de patente en Chile, tr\u00e1mite que ha sido apoyado por la<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dgt.usach.cl\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica <\/span><\/a><span
