El quehacer del laboratorio abarca desde la investigaci\u00f3n en qu\u00edmica b\u00e1sica (dise\u00f1o, s\u00edntesis y caracterizaci\u00f3n de los sistemas supramoleculares) hasta la aplicaci\u00f3n de los nuevos materiales (montaje y determinaci\u00f3n del rendimiento de los dispositivos con los materiales incorporados). Adem\u00e1s, tiene como objetivo realizar una investigaci\u00f3n aplicada que de soluciones a problemas medioambientales relacionados con almacenamiento de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica y la escasez de recursos h\u00eddricos.<\/span><\/p><p><b><i>Dispositivos de Almacenamiento de Energ\u00eda<\/i><\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad el laboratorio est\u00e1 enfocado en el desarrollo de pol\u00edmeros supramoleculares del tipo hu\u00e9sped-hospedero como aglutinantes de electrodos en bater\u00edas de ion-Litio. Con esta investigaci\u00f3n se busca aumentar en al menos un orden de magnitud,\u00a0 el rendimiento de las actuales bater\u00edas de ion-litio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><i>Escasez de recursos H\u00eddrico<\/i><\/b><b>s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El laboratorio busca preparar membranas polim\u00e9ricas compuestas superhidrof\u00f3bicas para la desalinizaci\u00f3n de agua de mar y el tratamiento de aguas residuales, utilizando el principio de destilaci\u00f3n por membrana. Para lograr membranas superhidrof\u00f3bicas (W.C.A&gt;140\u00b0) utiliza nanopart\u00edculas (met\u00e1licas o de silicio) modificadas con grupo hidr\u00f3fobos en su superficie que alteren las
