Esta innovaci\u00f3n cuenta con solicitud de patente en Chile, tramitaci\u00f3n apoyada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica de la Vriic.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1037f78d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1037f78d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los cultivos agr\u00edcolas se ven permanente expuestos a infecciones causadas por peligrosos agentes fitopat\u00f3genos, los que pueden da\u00f1ar gravemente las plantas e incluso, causar p\u00e9rdidas de los cultivos vegetales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre las bacterias fitopat\u00f3genas m\u00e1s da\u00f1inas para la agricultura se encuentra<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> la especie <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pseudomonas syringae, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que afecta las plantaciones de kiwi, cerezos, ciruelos, tomates y frijoles, entre otros. Como consecuencia de esta infecci\u00f3n, se generan cuantiosas mermas en la producci\u00f3n y en las cosechas, implicando <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">en<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> millonarias p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas a la industria.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frente a esta problem\u00e1tica, en la Universidad de Santiago de Chile (<a href=\"http:\/\/usach.cl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Usach<\/a>) se ha venido estudiando y avanzando en nuevas soluciones para prevenir y controlar las infecciones que causa este fitopat\u00f3geno en la agricultura.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b>Es as\u00ed como un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de nuestro Plantel, desarroll\u00f3 nuevos bacteri\u00f3fagos, adem\u00e1s de una composici\u00f3n bactericida que los comprende y un m\u00e9todo para el control biol\u00f3gico de enfermedades producidas por cepas de la especie <\/b><b><i>Pseudomonas syringae<\/i><\/b><b>.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta importante innovaci\u00f3n fue liderada por el <strong>Dr. Antonio Castillo<\/strong>, acad\u00e9mico e investigador de la Facultad de Qu\u00edmica y Biolog\u00eda, junto a un equipo multidisciplinario de investigadores y profesionales de las ciencias, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">integrado por el <strong>Dr. Luis Cottet<\/strong>, la <strong>Dra. Carla Trigo<\/strong> y los bioqu\u00edmicos <strong>Javiera de los \u00c1ngeles Cayunao<\/strong>; <strong>Esteban Arenillas<\/strong>; <strong>Carol Castillo<\/strong>; <strong>Jacqueline Contreras<\/strong> y <strong>Camila Santos<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEl uso de bacteri\u00f3fagos l\u00edticos ha demostrado ser una de las estrategias m\u00e1s prometedoras y eficaces para combatir este fitopat\u00f3geno\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, se\u00f1ala el <strong>Dr. Castillo<\/strong>. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA diferencia de los qu\u00edmicos tradicionales, como los antibi\u00f3ticos y los compuestos derivados del cobre, que pueden generar resistencia en las bacterias, esta tecnolog\u00eda ofrece una alternativa natural, respetuosa con el medioambiente y adem\u00e1s, es altamente eficaz\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El investigador explica que, adem\u00e1s de ser una opci\u00f3n sostenible, este desarrollo est\u00e1 alineado con la tendencia global de reducir gradualmente la utilizaci\u00f3n de sustancias qu\u00edmicas en la agricultura.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;El uso prolongado de antibi\u00f3ticos como la estreptomicina y compuestos de cobre ha llevado a la aparici\u00f3n de bacterias resistentes, lo que disminuye la efectividad de los tratamientos convencionales. Con nuestra tecnolog\u00eda basada en bacteri\u00f3fagos, entregamos una soluci\u00f3n natural que protege los cultivos, sin generar dicha resistencia&#8221;, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">acota.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este innovador producto se aplica directamente sobre las hojas, ramas, corteza y frutos de las plantas, inhibiendo el crecimiento y la propagaci\u00f3n de la bacteria. Entre sus principales ventajas para el sector agr\u00edcola, se destacan su inocuidad para el medioambiente y las personas, as\u00ed como su efectividad en la protecci\u00f3n de especies vegetales, lo que ayuda a evitar p\u00e9rdidas en las etapas de producci\u00f3n, cosecha y almacenamiento.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la actualidad, esta <\/span><b>tecnolog\u00eda Usach se encuentra con solicitud de patente de invenci\u00f3n en Chile, cuya tramitaci\u00f3n fue apoyada por la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica (<a href=\"http:\/\/dgt.usach.cl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DGT<\/a>) de la Vicerrector\u00eda de Investigaci\u00f3n, Innovaci\u00f3n y Creaci\u00f3n (<a href=\"http:\/\/vriic.usach.cl\" target=\"_blank\"
