El proyecto fue financiado por la ANID, cont\u00f3 con la colaboraci\u00f3n de las empresas Topcolor\u00a0 y Typack-Recipet, y recibi\u00f3 el apoyo de la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica de la Vriic.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-457124b8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"457124b8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"field field-name-post-date field-type-ds field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los envases de bebidas, jugos, aceites comestibles y bandejas de alimentos tienen en com\u00fan que est\u00e1n hechos de PET, un pl\u00e1stico totalmente reciclable. Tras su uso, este material puede ser procesado y convertido en PET reciclado (rPET), el cual sirve para fabricar nuevos productos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aunque el PET est\u00e1 presente en muchos de los objetos de uso cotidiano, menos del 15% llega a plantas de reciclaje para transformarse en rPET, seg\u00fan un <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paiscircular.cl\/consumo-y-produccion\/pet-el-plastico-que-abunda-en-chile-pero-que-hoy-se-debe-importar-para-sostener-una-industria-de-reciclaje-clave-para-la-ley-rep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">informe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Industriales del Pl\u00e1stico (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/asipla.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asipla<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Un claro ejemplo de esta realidad es la baja tasa de reciclaje domiciliario de las botellas pl\u00e1sticas, que apenas alcanza el 7%.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En la <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Santiago<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> s<\/strong>e han logrado avances significativos en la utilizaci\u00f3n del rPET como materia prima para la creaci\u00f3n de bandejas destinadas a productos alimentarios, con una calidad comparable a las hechas con PET virgen. Estos resultados son parte del proyecto Fondef <\/span><b>\u201cAplicaci\u00f3n de barrera funcional para la producci\u00f3n de envases de PET posconsumo destinado al envasado de alimentos\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, liderado por el <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.labenchile.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Centro de Innovaci\u00f3n en Envases y Embalajes Laben Chile<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>,<\/strong> en colaboraci\u00f3n con las empresas <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/topcolorsa\/?originalSubdomain=cl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Topcolor<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.typack.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Typack-Recipet<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, y con el respaldo de la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dgt.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vriic.usach.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vicerrector\u00eda de Investigaci\u00f3n, Innovaci\u00f3n y Creaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La iniciativa fue liderada desde Laben Chile por su Director, Dr. Abel Guarda, y el Director Alterno e investigador, Dr. Eliezer Vel\u00e1squez, junto a un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n del mismo centro. El desaf\u00edo fue <\/span>crear un envase basado en una formulaci\u00f3n nanocomp\u00f3sito de rPET, a partir de un masterbatch o aditivo, mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de una barrera polim\u00e9rica, procesable en los sistemas de producci\u00f3n industrial y con propiedades f\u00edsico-mec\u00e1nicas e inocuidad adecuadas para el envasado de alimentos.<\/p><p><b>Tras dos a\u00f1os de trabajo se<\/b><b><i> \u201cgener\u00f3 esta tecnolog\u00eda, en donde se desarroll\u00f3 l\u00e1minas multicapa basadas en PET reciclado y con barreras para incrementar la inocuidad en el envasado de alimentos. Adem\u00e1s, se disminuy\u00f3 el impacto del cambio de color que sufre el material de envase por el reciclado, se redujo la permeabilidad al ox\u00edgeno del pote basado en rPET hasta niveles similares al envase de PET virgen, y se increment\u00f3 la resistencia a la compresi\u00f3n del envase\u201d<\/i><\/b><b>, explica el Dr. Eliezer Vel\u00e1squez.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El investigador destaca que, <\/span><b>se alcanz\u00f3 un alto nivel de madurez tecnol\u00f3gica de TRL 7<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b><i>\u201cdemostrando as\u00ed, la maquinabilidad de la formulaci\u00f3n y el poder producir un prototipo en un ambiente operacional real. Por lo tanto, puede transferirse a la industria del envasado y acordar licencias de pruebas\u201d<\/i><\/b><b>.<\/b><\/p><h2><b>Colaboraci\u00f3n con la industria<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para las pruebas a nivel industrial, Laben Chile <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trabaj\u00f3 de forma asociativa con Topcolor S.A., <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">l\u00edder a nivel nacional en la producci\u00f3n de concentrados de pigmentos<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typack-Recipet<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, empresa <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dedicada al reciclaje de PET en Chile y a la producci\u00f3n de envases termoformados.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ese contexto, el <\/span><b>Dr. Abel Guarda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> enfatiza que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">la vinculaci\u00f3n con estas compa\u00f1\u00edas fue indispensable para validar la tecnolog\u00eda en los equipos de manufactura que se usan en la industria. <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta necesidad se hace a\u00fan m\u00e1s relevante, considerando que en Chile se busca incrementar y cumplir las metas de reciclaje de pl\u00e1sticos consideradas en la Ley REP (Responsabilidad Extendida del Productor), la cual impacta en las empresas para que gestionen residuos y protejan el medioambiente\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por su parte, <\/span><b>Enzo Marzullo, Gerente General de Topcolor,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comenta que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">los resultados de la investigaci\u00f3n muestran un excelente punto de partida para incrementar la recuperaci\u00f3n de PET reciclado posconsumo en aplicaciones alimentarias, generando un producto con gran valor agregado y evitando que el material pl\u00e1stico termine su vida \u00fatil en vertederos. Estoy convencido de que desde este tipo de iniciativas entre la academia y las empresas se generan soluciones innovadoras aplicables comercialmente y es por lo mismo, que seguiremos estando disponibles para colaborar\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En mayo pasado, cuando se efectu\u00f3 el cierre del proyecto, <\/span><b>Alejandro Guti\u00e9rrez, en ese entonces Gerente de Negocios de Typack-Recipet,<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">se\u00f1al\u00f3 que los avances y resultados de la investigaci\u00f3n eran de gran inter\u00e9s para la industria.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ccomprometemos nuestra colaboraci\u00f3n para probar la tecnolog\u00eda en envases directamente y verificar su potencial escalamiento\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finalmente, el <\/span><b>Dr. Eliezer Vel\u00e1squez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> puntualiza que \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">los resultados hacen atractivo licenciar pruebas para evaluar la factibilidad de reducci\u00f3n de los
