To address these topics, the microorganism Campylobacter spp, a facultative intracellular pathogen widely known as a common culprit of gastrointestinal symptoms of bacterial origin in the world, is currently being used as a model. In addition, genomic epidemiology studies are being conducted to elucidate the frequency and distribution of the different Campylobacter spp strains present in Chile.
